2017 Mazda CX-5: Not A Premium Just Yet

Before Mazda showed off the Mazda CX-5, there were a lot of talk and rumors about Mazda working on upgrading the Mazda CX-5 so that it can be marketed as a premium model.

The fans were afraid that that would mean that the Mazda CX-5 will cost more when it finally arrive but it looks like that will not be happening right now. Mazda has already shown off the Mazda CX-5 but what they have not announced was the price of the Mazda CX-5 here in the US.

However, they did announce the price of the Mazda CX-5 in Japan along with some of the tech and features that the Mazda CX-5 will be coming in with. According to the report, the Mazda CX-5 will now come with features like Advanced Smart City, Brake Support and more.

Under the hood is a 2.0 liter SkyActive-G engine that will be offering about 155PS and 196Nm of torque. There is also a 2.5-liter inline engine as well as a 2.2-liter diesel engine.

The base model will retail for about $20,800 in Japan. The US version might not be coming with the same price tag but at least we know where the Mazda CX-5 sits right now.
