2017 Mazda CX-5: CX-9 Feeling Left Out

It was initially thought that the Mazda CX-5 will have to follow the Mazda CX-9 and get the new engine to succeed but it looks like it is the Mazda CX-9 that lost out when they were not given the diesel engine here in the US.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is not perfect yet but the fans were pretty happy when Mazda announce that the vehicle was going to come in with a diesel engine. Diesel powered model almost went extinct when the Volkswagen diesel scandal surface. Automakers were wary when it comes to offering their diesel-powered models in the US but Mazda saw this as an opportunity to get all the attention.

The Mazda CX-5 will be powered by a 2.2-liter SKyAcitve-D diesel engine. The numbers are not out yet but the fact that it is going to be diesel is good enough for many of the consumers for now.

Others think that the Mazda CX-5 will only work if Mazda chose to bring the manual transmission back. A lot of automakers have already chosen to abandon the manual transmission but hopefully, Mazda will continue to keep it around.
