2017 Mazda 6: Won’t Be Getting Matching Engines

There is a reason why Mazda decided to design the new engine in such a way. Mazda introduced us to their new engine when they released it with the new Mazda CX-9. The engine, a 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine was designed in such a way that it will be able to fit into any Mazda model.

Even though it was made to be that way, we will most likely not be seeing the engine under the hood of the upcoming Mazda 6. Fans were hoping that with the new engine now available, the Mazda 6 will also be getting a powertrain upgrade but the fact is that they won’t have the time to do it.

Since fitting in a new engine would mean that they will have to do some modification and testing, they won’t be able to fit it into the upcoming Mazda 6 but we should be seeing the engine in some of the future Mazda models.

The 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine will be delivering about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.
