2017 Mazda 6: Not The Right Time

Mazda might have a new engine that will be able to fit into the new Mazda 6 but that does not mean that it will be happening.

Mazda showed off their new engine when they release the new Mazda CX-9. The new engine, a 2.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that made to be compact enough so that Mazda can fit it into any of their Mazda models.

However, just because it fits just right does not mean that it will be happening. The fact is that Mazda is getting ready to upgrade the Mazda 6 but to fit it with the new engine would mean that more testing, as well as upgrades, will have to be made to the Mazda 6 so that it will run well with the new engine and Mazda does not have that much time to do it.

While we might still be seeing more of the new engine in the future, it is highly unlikely that we will be seeing it under the hood of the upcoming Mazda 6.

The new Mazda engine could deliver about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.
