2017 Mazda 6: Cinderalla Story Won’t Happen Now

Just because the engine fits does not mean that upgrade is going to happen right now. When Mazda released the new Mazda CX-9, they also introduced us to the new Mazda engine. According to Mazda, the new Mazda engine was designed to be compact enough so that it will e able to fit into any of the Mazda models in the future.

Well, that had lead to many fans speculating that the upcoming Mazda 6 might be coming in with the new engine but it looks like that will not be the case. Even though the new engine would fit perfectly under the hood of the upcoming 2017 Mazda 6, fitting in a new engine will mean that they will have to do the testing and upgrades on the Mazda 6 once more and the fact is that they don’t have the time to that right now.

Maybe we might see the Mazda 6 with the new engine in the future but we most likely won’t be seeing it under the hood of the 2017 model. The new engine is a 2.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that will push out about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.
