2017 Kia Niro: Newer Threat To Prius, Bolt

The electric market is already pretty back right now but it should get even pack when Kia is done with their Niro. According to Kia, they have a new plan for the Kia Niro that will include a future EV model.

Kia reveals that we will be seeing three version of their Kia Niro. The Hybrid and plug-in hybrid model will be released first followed by the battery powered model which should be arriving in 2018. It should be coming in with the same electric motor that Hyundai is offering on the Ioniq right now which means we will be seeing a 28kWh battery.

The plug-in hybrid model will be heading into production next month while the hybrid model is expected to go on sale within the first quarter of this year.

With the Kia Niro arriving next year, do you think the Toyota Prius and Chevrolet Bolt should be worried?
