2017 Honda CR-V vs Toyota RAV4: Won’t Win By Waiting

Toyota made the right choice when they decided to offer the Toyota RAV4 with a hybrid engine. Bringing in the hybrid model has helped increase the sales of the Toyota RAV4 by 10%. Although they are still slightly behind the Honda CR-V in terms of sales, it won’t be for long if Honda continues to wait for the 2018 model.

While there were rumors hinting that the 2017 model might be getting a hybrid engine, that has not happened yet. In fact, most people now believe that Honda will be waiting for the 2018 Honda CR-V model to arrive before offering a hybrid engine.

You would think that with the Toyota RAV4 getting so close, Honda will not want to waste any more time but that is not what is happening now.

The 2017 Honda CR-V will be running on an 185hp engine that will return about 26mpg in the city and 32mpg on the highway. The Toyota RAV4 hybrid, on the other hand, will be returning about 34mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway.
