2017 GMC Acadia vs Toyota Highlander: Too Much Shine

We like what GMC Acadia has to offer but the amount of chrome parts the Acadia has can be a little too much. Let’s see how their less shiny rival, the Toyota Highlander fair against the GMC Acadia.

The Toyota Highlander comes in with a 2.7 liter inline 4 engine that will be delivering about 185hp and 184lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission and will return about 20mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway. The Highlander will also come with safety features like dusk sensing headlights, glass breakage sensor, emergency brake assist and more.

The GMC Acadia, on the other hand, will come with a 2.5 liter I-4 engine that is slightly more powerful than the Highlander. The engine will deliver about 194hp and 190lb ft of torque and will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission. The engine will also be returning about 21mpg in the city and 26mpg on the highway.

Features like the 8inch display screen and dual skyscape sunroof will be offered as optional features.

The Toyota Highlander will retail for $40,228 while the GMC Acadia will retail for $29,995.
