Fiat has not announced any of their plans to build a Fiat 124 Spider but if they do, the vehicle will be coming in to compete with the Mazda MX-5 RF.
The Mazda MX-5 RF is one formidable opponent so Fiat will have to give it all they got if they plan to take down Mazda. In has been reported that Fiat’s new 124 Spider might be coming in as a two-door coupe with a fixed roof instead of having a mechanically foldable roof.
It is also said that it could be fitted with an engine that would allow it to deliver up to 180hp. It wouldn’t surprise us if Fiat really does go down that path since they have already done it once in the past.
