2017 BMW 5-Series: Fuel Economy Sounds Fun

When a model is marketed as being powerful, fuel economy is usually not their selling point but that cannot be said about the 2017 BMW 5-Series.

With the new addition, BMW will have something for everyone. Those looking for a model with model power will get one now and those looking for a more fuel efficient options will also get what they want this time around.

The new BMW 5-Series will come with two new models, the M550i xDrive which will come in with a 4.4 liter V8 engine that will be offering about 456hp and 480lb ft of torque. The engine will be mated to an eight-speed auto transmission. According to BMW, the vehicle will need less than 4 seconds to go from 0-60mph.

Then there is the BMW 530e iPerformance model that will be coming in with a plug-in hybrid engine. Under the hood is a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be offering 180hp on its own and 248hp combine. The hybrid model will need 6.1 seconds to go from 0-60mph.
