Audi showed off their new 2017 Audi R8 Spyder model giving us another taste of what the upcoming performance model will look like. As exciting as that is, we are more excited about the pure engine that the Audi R8 Spyder will be coming in with.
The new 2017 Audi R8 will be coming in with a new 5.2 liter V10 engine. This is the same naturally aspirated engine that Lamborghini is currently using to power up their Lamborghini Huracan. On the Lamborghini, the same engine is able to offer about 540hp and 398lb ft of torque. Thanks to the new engine, the Audi R8 will be able to from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and now have a new top speed of 197.6mph.
On the outside, the Audi R8 now come with a shorter body. It will also be shedding some extra pounds. On the inside, the R8 will be fitted with a high-tech 12.3inch all-digital instrument cluster as well as the Audi Virtual Cockpit tech.
The arrival date and the retail price for the Audi R8 Spyder here in the US are still a mystery but more details about be arriving soon.
