2016 Subaru WRX STi Don’t Have Enough To Challenge Focus RS

The arrival of the Ford Focus RS will be a real problem for the Subaru WRX STi as it looks like the Subaru WRX STi will have a hard time trying to keep up with the new Focus RS.

Despite its slow update rate, the Subaru WRX STI still have a huge fan base but that will not last if they don’t do something about its performance and fuel economy. The current Subaru WRX STi is powered by a 305hp and 290lb ft of torque engine that will return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway. While the numbers are not bad, it is not the best either.

The Ford Focus RS will come with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque and returns about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. That along with some new features like the new Drift Mode could spell the end for the WRX STI if they don’t do something about it.
