2016 Jeep Wrangler In Trouble: 2017 Buyers Barely Escapes

FCA uncovered a problem with their Wrangler when they were doing their routine crash test. Although both the 2017 and 2016 Jeep Wrangler models will be affected by the recall, only the 2016 models will be heading back this time. That is because all of the affected 2017 models are still with FCA at this moment so there is no need to recall them.

According to FCA, some types of crashes might cause the wiring to disconnect from the impact sensors which means the airbags might not get deployed in a crash. The Jeep Wranglers that are brought back in will get a simple rewiring fix. A total of 311,000 units of the 2016 and 2017 Jeep Wrangler will be affected by the recall.

This is the second recall FCA has issued this week. The other recall will be affected the Ram, Dodge model and more. Affected models were at risk of catching fire
