2016 Ford Focus RS vs Subaru WRX STi: Won’t Be A Fair Fight

With the Subaru WRX STI desperately in need of an upgrade, their fight with the new Ford Focus RS is not going to be a fair one.

The current Subaru WRX STi is powered by a 305hp engine that will be offering about 290lb ft of torque. The Ford Focus RS, on the other hand, will be powered by a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine that will be delivering about 350hp and 350lb ft of torque. Compared to the Ford Focus RS, the WRX STi seems a lot less powerful.

It is also not the most fuel efficient model out of the two. The Ford Focus RS will return about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway while the Subaru WRX STI will only return about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway.

The Ford Focus RS will only need 4.6 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of 165mph while the Subaru WRX STI will need about 4.7 seconds to go from 0-60mph and has a top speed of only 159mph. Maybe it will be a closer fight when the upgrade WRX STi arrives.
