Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch Android 4.0 ICS Update Now Imminent

While Samsung has already officially confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S2 models will be getting their Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich fix, this may be the first time we have seen signs of a US variant already getting prepped for the update – the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch.

Coming by way of an RDF file lined to on the xda-developers forum, we find the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch will be getting the update any time now and it will likely be software number FB10 (Android 4.03). Of course, this software number could change as it is unclear if this is the final update that Sprint hopes to push to users.

However given what we can see here, it looks like carriers are already prepping the roll out of the much awaited Android 4.0 update. To date, we’ve seen leaked Android 4.0 ICS ROMs for international variants (GSM) however nothing has been officially released.

On a side note, the first batch of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices since the Galaxy Nexus are expected to be revealed at the Mobile World Congress event starting on February 27. We’ll be in Barcelona in two weeks to cover the event!
