World’s Slimmest Android On Sale Next Month, Brings Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

While the 7mm thin Motorola DROID RAZR already set impossible standards for future smartphones, the folks over at Huawei have found a way to sneak in something slightly slimmer – the Huawei Ascend P1S.

Huawei Ascend P1S takes “thinnest” title from Motorola DROID RAZR

With a 6.68mm profile versus the Motorola DROID RAZR and its 7mm profile (consequently the HTC Ville reportedly has a 7mm thin body frame too), the P1S boasts a 960×540 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4460 Cortex A9 processor, 8-megapixel rear-facing and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with dual flash LED and HDR effect optimization, and a 1,800 mAh battery coupled with hardware that will use up to 30% less power than current comparable smartphones.

To top things all off, the world’s thinnest smartphone will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded. Now if you’re wondering where you heard about the device before this it would at CES where it was also voted as one of the top 10 best smartphones at the show by PCWorld.

The chairman of Huawei has stated that they will be moving the release date for the P1S to end of March in Mainland China. No word on when it will hit other countries at this time.
