Apple iPhone 5 Returns To Summer Schedule, Going To WWDC 2012 [Report]

And here we go again. After Apple surprised fans with a late fall launch of the iPhone 4S, the Cupertino-based company is reportedly heading back to its summer launch schedule when it comes time to announce the next-gen Apple iPhone 5.

iPhone 5 release set for summer 2012 again?

The details come via a DigiTimes report which cited a Daiwa Securities analyst when it first appeared in Chinese-language newspaper Commercial Times on Thursday. While the report does conform with other rumors that the iPhone 5 will feature a fully redesigned shell, the report points to a glass-to-glass touch panel technology.

To date not much else is known about the iPhone 5. The majority of other reports hint that it will feature 4G LTE connectivity and come NFC capable. We can also expect a larger display (at least 4-inches), redesigned antenna again, and a improved 12-megapixel Sony camera sensor with improved low-light capabilities.

However just like all reports on the upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 3, we suggest taking it with a huge grain of salt. We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
