Samsung Galaxy S3, LG X3 & HTC Edge To Hold Off Release Until iPhone 4S Sales Cool Down?

While Apple was criticized for delaying the release of the iPhone 4S as well as using the same form factor as its predecessor, the next-generation iPhone has been selling like hotcakes ever since its release (just take a look at the official figures unveiled by Apple, AT&T and Verizon just last week).

iPhone 4S sales streak to continue through Q1 2012

Well it now looks like other phone manufacturers believe the iPhone 4S fire will continue to rage on well through Q1 2012 and plan to hold off their popular devices until the second quarter of this year so as to not directly compete with Apple’s star device. DigiTimes reports:

“With the iPhone 4S launched globally in the fourth quarter of 2011 and expected to be selling well in the first quarter of 2012, other international vendors including Samsung Electronics, HTC, Nokia and LG Electronics are expected to launch their new smartphone models in the second quarter to avoid competing too directly with the iPhone 4S, according to Taiwan-based smartphone supply chain makers.”

Samsung Galaxy S3, LG X3 and HTC Edge may not be announced until Q2 2012

We’ve already received word from Samsung that they are still undecided as to when exactly they plan to launch the Samsung Galaxy S3 (may or may not happen at MWC 2012). And according to the DT report, other manufacturers like HTC and LG are in the same boat. We know both HTC and LG are apparently working on quad-core phones: HTC Edge and LG X3, so these device may also remain unannounced until May.

We’ll keep you posted asĀ  more develops.
