10 New Android Tablets From CES 2012 (Roundup)

CES 2012 ended up becoming a playing field for upcoming Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablets hoping to take on the likes of the iPad 2 and Amazon Kindle Fire. While there were some oddities like Windows 8 and those that blurred the lines between tablet and phone (Samsung Galaxy Note), it was the new Android tablets that stole the show. Here is a recap of the Android tablets that made their official debuts at the Consumer Electronics Show this year.

New Android tablets from CES 2012

10 new Android tablets announced this week: Kyobo Mirasol eReader, Jetbook Color eReader, next-generation Acer Iconia Tab, Toshiba Thrive 7, Toshiba Excite x10, Asus MeMO 171, Asus MeMO 370t, upgraded ASUS Transformer Prime 700 series, Fujitsu Arrows Tablet and lastly the Pantech Element.

Now if you’ve been following us this whole week then you will have a small clue as to what each of tablets are all about and which ones you should truly be watching out for in 2012. If you haven’t then let us point them out: the Toshiba Excite X10 (10.1-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display, Android 4.0 and brushed aluminum finish) , ASUS Transformer Prime 700 Series (upgraded display, first Android 4.0 tablet officially) and the Acer MeMO 370t (NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded and only $249).

With the iPad 3 rumored to launch sometime in March or April this year, Apple may have more than the Amazon Kindle Fire to worry about in 2012.
