Samsung Galaxy S3 Biggest Problem: Just Too Fragile

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is right at the top of the smartphone food chain right now, garnering admiration from Android and iOS fans alike. But is it totally without flaws?

Samsung Galaxy S3 more fragile than expected

Of course not – nothing is ever perfect or totally future-proof – there’s always something that could be better. There have recently been several members of the Dutch techblog Tweaker who have been talking about issues with the Samsung Galaxy S3. These aren’t software issues, though, they’re hardware issues. In particular, the casing of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is easily prone to damage on the metallic edge.

Different members have posted photos of their phones, each showing damage to different areas of the devices. Some damage is on the sides of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and some on the bottom. The owners say that no deliberate damage was done, and there have been no incidences of accidental damage, like dropping or crushing. Samsung hasn’t commented on this problem yet, and hopefully only a small batch of phones has been affected by what can only be a manufacturing error.

We’ve already seen how the Samsung Galaxy S3 failed in drop tests when compared to the iPhone 4S. In fact its screen which reportedly uses Gorilla Glass 2 technology was found to be quite fragile. While the Samsung Galaxy S3 is future-proof based on specs,, there appear to be growing issues with durability that questions its real-world lifespan.
