Forget Pressures, iPhone 5 Release Date Can’t Be So Early

According to PopHerald, you can find ‘proof’ that the iPhone 5 will be landing sometime this fall only just by checking out the the official website page for Apple’s iOS 6 features. Despite months of trying to keep the device under wraps, in usual Apple fashion (in fact they said they were ‘doubling’ their secrecy levels this year!), they did give it away by telling folks that iOS 6 would rollout “sometime this fall”.

iPhone 5 release date tied with iOS 6

Apple has without fail released a major iOS update with every new iPhone and hence the iPhone 5 will enjoy the same privilege via iOS 6. iOS 6 of course boasts 200 new features including certain things that Android always managed to hold over Apple’s head for such as free turn by turn navigation and deep Facebook integration. Well the iPhone 5 will mean the end of those handicaps.

Other apps that sort of hint Apple will also want new hardware (i.e iPhone 5) ready when iOS 6 rolls out is features like Passbook. This one in particular will be pretty lucrative for Apple. They say on their website that it keeps tabs on tickets, coupons, your schedule (such as flights) etc, and they pop up on the lock screen at the appropriate moment (such as when you approach a ticket desk, or a relevant shop in which you can use a coupon). In order to use the app then you need to use one of your bank cards, and the lucrative part for Apple is said to be the NFC integration that is hopefully a built-in hardware feature of the iPhone 5 (we saw some prototype iPhone 5 models used to test NFC already).

The second app indicating the tie in with the iPhone 5 & iOS 6 is Apple finally opening up FaceTime over 3G. They could have done this with the iPhone 4 but they didn’t. Why? LTE is likely the answer. It would work perfectly with the speed, stability and lower ping found on a 4G LTE connection (location dependent). And we emphasize the word ‘perfectly’ as Apple ties perfection with ‘simple to use’ and that’s what iOS devices are all about.

So while there have been numerous reports that the increasing popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is pressuring Apple to bring the iPhone 5 release date up to as early as next month, iOS 6 is too big for Apple to come to the party without.
