Another iPhone 5 Feature Practically Confirmed

Everyone is showing excitement about the upcoming iPhone 5 and the upgrades that the device may get. Everyone expects Apple to have upgraded the handset to ensure that it is one of the top phones in the world. As of course there is a great deal of competition with devices such as the Galaxy S3 from Samsung and the Nexus 7 from Google.

iPhone 5 features: 19 pin mini dock connector “pretty much confirmed”

However bear in mind that change is usually for the better but it generally comes at higher cost. When it comes to the iPhone this may be in the form of iPhone accessories. TapScape reports that the iPhone 5 is “pretty much confirmed to get a 19-pin mini connector.” TechCrunch were the first to break this news when they cited three companies who make accessories for the iPhone as well.

The three manufacturers were all in agreement that the iPhone 5 will come with a 19 pin dock port. This has left many manufacturers of accessories (along with owners of accessories) sweating, having to wait for official confirmation from Apple.

Apple has always used the 30 pin ports on their devices and the change could mean that accessories that could be used between iOS devices in the past would not work. If the change is true it would mean that users would have to go out and purchase new dock stations, speakers and a whole host of other accessories that have the 19 pin connector.

This comes in as the second iPhone 5 feature that has practically been ‘confirmed’. The first of course was that it would be LTE capable based on the fact that as of this year, the iPad is.
