Samsung Galaxy S3 Sets Bar High For iPhone 5 But Is It Enough

One of the biggest threats to the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be the iPhone 5 from Apple. Now the folks over at GameNGuide have suggested that the specs of the S3 are seen as high caliber alongside iPhones of the past but not necessarily those rumored for the iPhone 5.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display, has support for 4G LTE and HSPA+ and comes in 16GB and 32GB versions of storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It also has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.9 on the front, a 2100mAh battery that is removable and it comes with ICS and Touch Wiz overlay.

The phone runs on the Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual core processor from Qualcomm, in the US, and it has 2GB of RAM. The international version has the Exynos 1.4GHz quad core processor and 1GB of RAM.

It also comes packed with features which include S Voice, S Beam. This means users can issue voice commands and share files quickly, simply by touching devices.

At the moment no one knows what the iPhone 5 will have but there have been rumors floating around that the handset will be a major upgrade over its predecessor and come with the latest iOS 6 in tow. This next generation OS has some great features including a brand new Siri version along with turn by turn navigation, iStore media content, faster social networking and updates to the Safari web browser.

If rumors are to be believed the new iPhone 5 will comes with some breaking new hardware. This could be a 1.5GHz A6 quad core processor and 1GB or RAM, a 4 inch touchscreen that comes with a Retina display and probably 1280 x 720 resolutions, and may also have support for NFC and 4G LTE.

With this level of hardware rumored and the 200 plus new features that iOS 6 has to boast, the iPhone 5 sounds like a gamechanger. Whether it will be enough to outshine the Galaxy S3 still remains to be seen as Samsung has done everything right with their flagship phone.

Samsung have said that they expect to sell 10 million handsets of the S3 by the end of July and the phone is shipped to over 300 carriers in more than 147 countries around the world already. There is no mention yet of the release date for the iPhone 5 but it has been suggested as being anywhere between August to October of this year.
