[ALERT] Samsung Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update Readily Available For All ‘Takju’ Handsets

Fans of Android now have another reason to envy all those who went to the Google O/I in person. Apparently there is a signed copy of the official Jelly Bean build floating around online, but it will only work with the ‘Takju’ GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus models that were handed out at the I/O, or those with a Galaxy Nexus with the firmware IMM30D.

‘Takju’ Samsung Galaxy Nexus can get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update right now

If you are one of the lucky ones that will be able to make use of the update you can get it online via a 156 MB zip download. However owners of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus should not worry as it will not be long before the dev community gets their hands on it and using the appropriate modifications ensure that everyone with a Nexus can use it by flashing a version of it.

Officially, Google is expected to release the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus next month only. Accompanying it will reportedly be the Samsung Nexus S and Motorola XOOM.

Of course we can also look forward to many other goodies that might emerge from them doing so. The question on everyone’s lips is when will it be ported for others devices? For now we will all have to wait patiently.
