Motorola Crashes Galaxy S3 & One X Party This Summer With RAZR HD (EMH)

If there is one other Android smartphone out there that has garnered up as much hype as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X / EVO 4G LTE then it would have to be the long anticipated Motorola DROID RAZR HD.

Motorola DROID RAZR HD rumored to join Samsung Galaxy S3 & HTC One X this summer

The successor to the popular DROID RAZR MAXX is coming to a store near you this summer, suggests the EasternMorningHerald (EMH). The handset which is to Motorola what the Galaxy S3 is to Samsung, hasn’t been shy from the spotlight either despite not being officially announced. To date we’ve seen leaked specs, benchmarks, pictures and even EXIF data suggesting that it packs a 13-megapixel rear camera.

According to EMH, some information has now been revealed thanks to a special event held in China. In the US the device will have the name of the Droid Fighter but apart from this the differences between the RAZR HD and any other variants of the Droid RAZR will be minimal.

The handset is said to have retained the distinct looking hump of its predecessors and it is said to be around 9mm thick. The name of the handset would suggest that the screen is HD, however early photos leaked online suggested a qHD display. This would have been very close to HD quality, but not actually high definition. It has also been rumored that the handset will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed.

Motorola are ‘trying’ to keep a tight lid on the project and as yet there has been no leaks regarding the inner workings of the handset (i.e. software tweaks). Nevertheless, with the HTC One X already in stores and the Samsung Galaxy S3 expected to arrive sometime next month here in the US, Motorola better get the RAZR HD here sooner than later.
