There has been a great deal of confusion and agitation over when users will get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Verizon phones. The good news for everyone waiting for the latest Android 4.0 with a HTC or Motorola handset is they can now find out as timelines have been confirmed by the respective manufacturers.
Verizon Android 4.0 update list
The folks over at Droid-Life have gathered them together as well as thrown in a couple of Verizon devices from other manufacturers to round it up.
Official HTC Android 4.0 update list
First the HTC range of handsets that have been confirmed: HTC Rezound (June/July), HTC Thunderbolt (July/August), HTC Rhyme (June/July), HTC DROID Incredible 2 (unconfirmed), HTC DROID Incredible (no upgrade coming)
Motorola Android 4.0 update list
For Motorola owners handsets confirmed at this moment in time include the Motorola DROID RAZR, RAZR MAXX and XOOM all sometime in Q2; the Motorola DROID 4, XYBoard 8.2 and 10.1, and Bionic all in Q3; the Motorola DROID 2, DROID X2, DROID X, DROID 2 GLOBAL AND R2-D2, DROID Pro will all not be getting any updates along with the OG DROID.
Samsung Android 4.0 update list
Samsung handsets vary as follows: Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Tab 7.7 (unknown); and the Samsung DROID Charge, Stratosphere, Illusion and Fascinate are unlikely.
