Samsung Galaxy S3 Not Your Cup Of Tea? 2 Upcoming Flagships To Watch Out For

The Samsung Galaxy S3 officially broke cover earlier this month and with it put an end to all the rumors that we’ve seen running since the late 2011. While we did get the 4.8-inch AMOLED display and quad-core Exynos processor, the device still received mixed reactions.

Samsung’s choice of going with a Pentile screen, the likelihood of US Galaxy S3 models getting a dual-core chip instead, and the heavily criticized exterior design, has given room for other manufacturer’s and their upcoming flagship devices to take the title of best Android smartphone of the year. In particular, we will be keeping an eye on HTC and Motorola. Here’s why.

2 major Samsung Galaxy S3 rivals: HTC One X & Motorola DROID RAZR HD

HTC One X: First up is the HTC One X which is making its way to AT&T and Sprint (HTC EVO 4G LTE). Boasting a quad-core Exynos processor (dual-core in US), 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD video recording coupled with an f2.0 lens and HTC’s custom image processing chip; Beats Audio integration, 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 display, and exterior styling which is arguably the best we’ve seen on an Android this year, it certainly is ‘quietly brilliant’.

Motorola DROID RAZR HD: Next up is the long rumored (and constantly leaked) RAZR HD which is basically a DROID RAZR MAXX with a larger HD display, ICS keys and 13MP camera. Other specs include an industry leading 3,300mAh battery and super-slim form factor with premium choice of exterior materials (Kevlar-like rear, Gorilla Glass up front).
