The Samsung Galaxy S3 was finally made official earlier last week at a special event in London. While the Galaxy S3 was met with mixed reactions after many of the rumors about its hardware never came to fruition, it still appears to stand above nearly all other smartphones on the market.
Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 4S, HTC One X, Nokia Lumia 800 & Sony Xperia S
In particular, the biggest competitors the Samsung Galaxy S3 will likely face when it lands in stores sometime next month are the HTC One X, iPhone 4S, Sony Xperia S and Nokia Lumia 800. The folks over at NDTV have prepared a handy little chart pitting the specs of all four smartphones against one another (see below).
As can be seen, the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes in pretty close with many of its rivals in a number of aspects. However where it is a clear winner include its battery (2,100mAh), screen size and its front facing camera (1.9-megapixels). And while it can’t be seen on paper, the 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor in the Samsung Galaxy S3 is believed to blow the competition of out the water in benchmarks.
It is also important to note that while the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a big screen, there isn’t a huge tradeoff in terms of awkwardness in handling as the S3 features an almost edge-to-edge display which keeps its overall dimensions in check.
