Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE release date looks set for May 18

The folks over at AndroidAndMe report that their source within Sprint who has been accurate in the past when it comes to the release date of Sprint devices has echoed to them the same May 18th date. Given that the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE goes up for pre-order on May 7, it does tie in with this rumor as Sprint doesn’t usually keep its customers waiting too long after opening orders.

According to the rumor, the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE release date of May 18 will apply to both online and brick-and-mortar stores. With a price tag of $199.99 with a two year contract, that’s a great deal for such a high spec device, especially given that the Verizon HTC DROID Incredible 4G which is slightly inferior to the EVO looks to go on sale at the $300 mark.

The HTC EVO 4G LTE will join the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper as the only smartphones on Sprint with 4G LTE radios.
