Samsung Galaxy Note 2: Forget S3, This Is What I Want [PHOTOS]

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is without a doubt the most anticipated Android smartphone of 2012. However while we’ve been ‘blinded’ by the hype behind it, we forget that the Galaxy name is a brand and their devices tend to all share similar architecture in the end.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would likely avoid dogfight between Galaxy S3, iPhone 5, HTC One X & Motorola DROID Fighter

Now the reason we’re bringing this up is because just like how the Samsung Galaxy S2 is expected to get updated to the S3, the same came be said about its closest sibling the Samsung Galaxy Note (we will leave the Samsung Galaxy Nexus out because it is Google’s decision as to whether Samsung gets to make a Google Nexus 4 or not).

Just like how the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note are almost identical in terms of hardware (other than the Note’s larger display and capacitive pen prowess), the Galaxy Note 2 will likely take on all the rumored hardware we’ve heard about the Galaxy S3.

And that’s where this clever concept of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes in (photo below). Created by Bob Freking, it resembles the Samsung Galaxy Note but features a thinner bezel which equates to an overall smaller form factor and hence easier one-handed operation. Specs wise, it follows the Samsung Galaxy S3 rumor mill pretty closely and gets a next-generation AMOLED display, 2GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 5 processor (rumored to actually be 1.8GHz but it’s just a concept after all), 2GB RAM, 12-megapixel rear camera, and 32GB internal storage.

While I can’t wait for the Samsung Galaxy S3 to be announced, I personally will wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which is practically ‘confirmed’ given that the current Galaxy Note has become a sales success (over 5 million units reportedly sold within the past 5 months). If anything, it would be identical to the Samsung Galaxy S3 under the hood but boast a larger display HD display and more capacitive pen-supporting apps.

Anyone else waiting for a successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note which is unmatched in terms of size and advanced stylus support? Or are you going to wait for the winner of the dogfight between the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X, Motorola DROID Fighter and iPhone 5 ?
