Samsung Galaxy S3 Takes Galaxy Note Cues, Not S2 Or Nexus (Rumors)

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is arguably the most anticipated Android smartphone of 2012. Given the sales success that the Galaxy S2 was, it comes as no surprise.

Fresh Samsung Galaxy S3 rumors

Now the latest rumors come way of the Korean Daily news which suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S3 may come with a physical home button. While it is still expected to come preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which supports on-screen keys, the Samsung Galaxy S3 won’t follow the footsteps of the Galaxy Nexus and abandon screen buttons altogether. We don’t know why they wish to keep the home button but given that even the HTC One X isn’t a blank slate up front like the Galaxy Nexus, it seems that manufacturers haven’t caught the ICS buzz just yet despite rolling devices out with them.

The second details suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will sport 5 icons on the home screen instead of 4 like the Samsung Galaxy S2. Now this is nothing new as we have seen it in the Samsung Galaxy Note. Given that rumors point to the Samsung Galaxy S3 coming with a 4.8-inch display, it certainly has the real estate to pull it off.

We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
