Final Temptation: Samsung Galaxy S3 Launching After US Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 ICS Roll Out?

With the recent flurry of HTC One X reviews flooding the Web as the international variant of HTC’s superphone began to arrive in the hands of tech pundits, many users who were hoping to hear from Samsung about the Galaxy S3 may have been enticed by this new piece of hardware that is arguably the most powerful ‘announced’ smartphone on the market right now.

No Samsung Galaxy S3 until all Galaxy S2 models get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update (report)

Well if you thought you managed to fight off that temptation, here is another. According to a report by PopHerald, Samsung is expected to update all Samsung Galaxy S2 models (yes, including the US variants) before it plans to roll out the Samsung Galaxy S3:

“Tech bloggers, especially the opinionated ones, agree that Samsung must reach the 100 percent ‘Galaxy S2 with Ice Cream Sandwich’ status worldwide before selling a new flagship device, like the widely expected Galaxy S3, because it is the best way to convince the buying public that Samsung doesn’t abandon customers like other manufacturers,” reports Pop Herald.

Now despite the age of the Samsung Galaxy S2, it continues to be one of the best selling Android smartphones on the market. And with a lowered price tag and the latest Android update in its bag, more users who have been due for an upgrade for sometime now may decide to spring for it instead of waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S3. As we know, even if the Samsung Galaxy S3 is announced in April or May, we here in the US may need to wait up to 6 months for US carriers to launch their variants, by which time we wouldn’t be surprised if Android 5.0 JellyBean is already making appearances.

If the US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch, S2 Skyrocket, etc) get their Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich fix this month, would you jump on one or wait up until the fall for the next generation US Galaxy S3 models to rollout? Sound off in the comments below.
