While the Motorola DROID RAZR was no disappointment on its own, the fact that Motorola released the RAZR MAXX with double the battery life and all the same features and styling only two months after the original would have no doubt disappointed early adopters.
Motorola DROID RAZR to RAZR MAXX conversion kit only $109.95
Around a month ago, we posted a story about a user who managed to retro-fit the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX 3,300mAh battery into the original DROID RAZR and do nothing more than make the device lose its warranty. The overall process was lengthy and no walk in the park.
Now, the folks over at Cellphone Repair Shop have simplified the process by creating a conversion kit for RAZR owners. Not only does the kit include all the tools you need but also the original Motorola DROID RAZR 3,300mAh battery (adhesive tape, back battery cover and SIM/SD card door included). All that is missing are the tools in case you don’t have them, which CRS can also supply. The Motorola DROID RAZR to MAXX conversion kit costs $109.95 which is not cheap but given that a new RAZR MAXX will set you back $650, it’s a bargain for those who are fighting battery life issues.
Anyone interested in plunking down an extra $110 to double the battery life of their Motorola DROID RAZR without having to get one of those ugly extended battery covers that look like two phones sandwiched together? Sound off in the comments below.
