Samsung Galaxy Nexus & DROID RAZR MAXX Nemesis Breaks Cover

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX are without a doubt the top two Android superphones on Verizon Wireless at the moment. In fact, it is difficult to officially state which one is better given that their strengths and weaknesses lie far apart from one another.

DROID Fighter packs best of Samsung Galaxy Nexus & Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX

If you were planning on waiting for the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to see if it would get you out of the pickle of choosing between these currently available Android heavyweights then here is another smartphone to make things a little more complicated – the Motorola DROID Fighter.

Previously only a name and a handful of specs, the Motorola DROID Fighter has finally broken cover over on the notorious PhoneHK forums. The pictures reveal a doppelganger of the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX but with a number of improvements.

Taking the 3,300mAh battery that the RAZR MAXX is best known for, it also throws in a 4.6-inch HD display. And if you thought waiting for Motorola to rollout the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the RAZR MAXX was gutwrenching then you will be happy to know that the DROID Fighter boasts on-screen Ice Cream Sandwich buttons. Which means that it has to launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich preloaded.

So what we’re looking at is a smartphone that packs a HD display to match the Galaxy Nexus but with a better camera, and a battery to match the RAZR MAXX but with Android 4.0 instead of Gingerbread.

Rumors peg it for an April 12 release date. Any takers?
