What One Feature Should iPhone 5 & iOS 6 Bring In 2012?

With the iPad 3 now less than a day from being announced, word on the street is that it will launch with iOS 6.0 in tow. If not, we can expect it to roll out with the iPhone 5 sometime this summer (or fall if Apple follows the iPhone 4S schedule).

iPhone 5 and iOS 6: most wanted features

While the iPhone 4S is arguably the best selling smartphone on the market at the moment, there is always room for improvement. Putting aside hardware upgrades like a bigger display, better camera and faster processor, what new features would you like your iPhone to have on a software level? Here are a couple of our favorites:

Timestamps for SMS: While the iPhone native SMS app does put timestamps on some messages, it is not on all of them which can sometimes be a pain when you need to know exactly what time the message arrived or was delivered.

Access to common toggles in notifications center: With the pull-down notifications center being so convenient to access, it would be good if you could toggle the most common settings of your phone from there e.g. Bluetooth, Wifi, Location Services, Vibration, 3G, screen brightness, etc.

More open Bluetooth: While the iPhone does support Bluetooth, it is restricted to transferring certain kinds of files only and isn’t universal.

Ability to hide apps you don’t need: Not everyone needs the Stocks, Weather or YouTube app after all.

Turn-by-Turn voice navigation: Enough said.
