Samsung Gives Pocket As Answer To Galaxy Note Size Complaints

Despite there being no signs of the Samsung Galaxy S3 yet, Samsung is still keeping the Galaxy brand buzzing with the introduction of new Galaxy models. The latest comes way of the Samsung Galaxy Pocket, possibly the cheapest Galaxy phone on the market.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket squeeze in between Galaxy Note and Galaxy S3

Samsung has gone ahead and announced the Samsung Galaxy Pocket which is the exact opposite of the Galaxy Note i.e. it WILL fit in your pocket (yes we get it, Samsung).

Featuring a 2.8 inch screen with 320×240 pixels, it has a 2-megapixel fixed focus camera, 800MHz processor, the usual radios (no LTE) and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It is expected to hit UK “later this year” and will not only be the cheapest Galaxy phone on the market but possibly the lowest spec.

With the Samsung Nexus S being the lowest end model to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and other phones like the Google Nexus One incapable of running the new Android update, the chances of the Galaxy Pocket getting an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update are slim to nil.

With all eyes on the Samsung Galaxy Note at the moment and the Samsung Galaxy S3 rumor mill spinning in full gear, the Galaxy Pocket may soon be forgotten.
