BMW To Launch 2 New Models Below The 1-Series

If you already know that Audi is expected to display its brand new A1 hatchback in March 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show, and Mercedes–Benz is all set to exhibit its new A-Class, then you must be wondering about BMW’s launch.

Sources say that the Bavarian car maker is preparing to launch two new models below the 1-Series, by 2014.

First up, the Megacity, the name given to one of the electric cars based on the BMW ActiveE Concept which was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show, is supposed to carry a 125kW electric motor and liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries. This will enable it to travel a total range of 160km on a single charge.

Although the details about the other vehicle are kept confidential, it is believed that it will be something close to the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamic Concept supercar which has just gotten the permit to begin production.
