There is a great deal of sympathy for the Half Life community as they have been kept waiting a decade for Half Life 3 and there is still no sign of the game coming.
Throughout the ten years, many discussions have taken place and fans agreed that Half Life 3 will be about the Borealis. However, the latest discussion among the fans suggest on something different.
MSWORD was wondering on the fans’ view on Half Life 3 if it skips on the Borealis arc entirely. The Redditor suggested a Half Life 3 that is 20 years after the events in Half Life 2 where the Borealis was an epic failure and the universe is still being controlled by the Combine.
As interesting as it may sound, fans felt that this should not happen. Unlike the gap between Half Life and Half Life 2, the third sequel shouldn’t be far off the latter. This is due to the major cliff hanger on Half Life 2 episode 2.
Most fans agreed that the only way this can happen is if there will be a Half Life 2 Episode 3 coming as well. After all, the unanswered needs to be answered.
The fans can get really creative when it comes to the Half Life gaming series. All that is left for Valve is to start developing the game. Then again, the game developer has no love for the Half Life community.
