2016-2017 Honda Accord Facelift Design Cues Teased At Beijing [PICS]

It is no secret that Honda aims at giving the Accord a facelift in 2016 and it is going to be something extraordinary. Unfortunately, nobody has a clue on the sort of design that will feature in the future model.

That is until yesterday, when the Beijing Auto Show hints a thing or two on what we can expect coming to the next Honda Accord. The hint came in the form of a concept vehicle from DongFang called the Spirior.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the Spirior is basically the Accord, rebadged for the Chinese market. Furthermore, it is the product of both DongFang and Honda, which has been teaming up for 5 years now.

If there is anything we can learn, the Spirior escaped the typical Accord styling and came out with something that looks like the Honda Civic. From a different angle, the front also looks like the new Acura TLX Concept. This is not surprising as the facelift designer is the same fellow that penned the new Acura TLX.

Under the hood, everything will be familiar as the Spirior runs on Honda’s 2.4L direct injection 4-cylinder petrol engine that is mated to an 8-speed DCT transmission. Other features include are the head-up display, lane departure warning and blind spot display systems.
