The BMW i3 might be the most energy efficient electric vehicle in the world right now but that does not mean it is the right EV car for everyone. As a matter of fact, we find the Tesla Model S to be the better purchase than the BMW i3.
While the Model S might be about 16% less efficient that the i3, the car still have more to offer. In detail, the Model S offers a huge battery pack and a spacious interior. In other words, commuters can travel in comfort in the Tesla Model S and also cover a longer distance that averages at 265miles. The i3 can only cover 81miles at best.
Of course, the Model S can’t achieve the i3’s 89MPGe ratings. However, translating the 16% to electricity bills, it means Model S owners have to fork out an additional $8 on a monthly basis. However, it is $8 well spent if everyone considers the above.
