Volkswagen Goes 3D For Its Workers

Volkswagen is just so thoughtful of its workers; they’re going to be implementing the usage of 3D smart glasses for their workers at its Wolfsburg facility. This would all aim to project key information in the worker’s field of vision, including part numbers and where they can be found. Can we have one too, please?

They will be featuring touch- and voice-control capabilities for daily ease of operation, and a camera that automatically reads bar codes. How, you may ask? Well, pick up the part where you want it to be scanned and scan it, it’ll light up green if it’s right, and red when it’s wrong. We’re still not sure if this would entirely ease the workers’ operation or it’ll only make them lazier by the day, as the saying goes: technology makes us lazy.

Well, for what it’s worth, the devices have already gone out in their three-month pilot program, and are now being rolled out in logistics. It’s all going to be uniform and everyone would look totally cool in the facility. Guess we’ll give the green light for this one.
