Toyota Avalon Recalls: Similar Power Window Switch Defect As Camry?

Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling about 6.5 million vehicles worldwide for their manufacturing problem. According to a statement from the automaker, the vehicles need to be recalled due to the problem with the power window switch which can overheat and lead to a fire.

It seems that Toyota keeps on recalling its vehicles and this time, the problem is caused by the lack of lubricant grease on the master switch, which can cause short circuit and melt the switch.

This is not the first time this problem happened because three years ago, similar problem occurred affecting 2.5 million vehicles from 2007-2009 model. Toyota thought that after a few years, the newer ones won’t have the same problem but apparently, history is repeating itself again.

Toyota Camry is one of the many car models being recalled by Toyota. Apparently, Toyota Avalon was also recalled by the company in 2013, not for the power window faulty but the electrical problem that caused airbags failure.
