It is a common duel between Apple’s products and that of Samsung. Both had its fair share of victories. Having just released the iPad Mini, Apple is undoubtedly putting the pressure on the Samsung’s also new Galaxy Note 8.0. Let us compare and see for ourselves which is simply better.

First impression is always important and it begins with the looks. The iPad mini is built with aluminium and glass body which carry the typical premium feel from Apple whereas the Note 8.0 maintains Samsung obsession with plastic. Both are easy to handle size-wise. It is a clear decision that the iPad Mini owns this round.

Where the eye is concerned, the iPad Mini brags on having the best display around with a 1024 x 768p fitted into its 7.9” screen. The Note 8.0 has a larger screen size by 0.1”. While not having the same pixel power, both tablets can produce sharp images with vibrant colours. Again, this round goes to the iPad.

In terms of hardware, the iPad Mini runs on a dual core A5 processor with 512 RAM. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 on the other hand is equipped with a 6 GHz quad-core Exynos chip with 2GB of RAM. The Note 8.0 definitely triumphs in this segment.

The battery life proves to be a dead end tie as both devices has been recorded to last around 11 hours of normal usage. Looking into the cameras, both the iPad and the Note features a 5MP rear camera. The iPad Mini however has only a 1.2MP front camera which is less when compared to 1.3MP of the Note 8.0. This victory goes to the Note 8.0.

Samsung is selling the Note 8.0 at $300 whereas the iPad Mini is sold at $330 by Apple. There are two notable victories for each side so there isn’t a clear winner on this one. With both Apple and Samsung already establish themselves as bitter rivals, a draw is not good enough. You have the power to decide based on your needs.
