Kia Sorento or Hynundai Santa Fe: Too Similar To Tell Apart

Both the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe are two of the best SUVs around right now and they also share plenty of similarities with each other. However, between the two, which is better?

In terms of design, we find the Hyundai Santa Fe more appealing than the Kia Sorento. The former exhibit a bold exquisite stance as it flaunts the horizontal chrome bars and appealing colour combination. The Sorento, on the other hand, looks like a decent family car with little confidence to offer.

Under the hood, both vehicles are powered by the same engine architecture which is the 2.4L naturally aspirated gas inline 4. Also, the Kia Sorento and the Hyundai Santa Fe runs on the FWD system with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In figures, the Kia Sorento appears to be slightly more powerful as it has 191hp in the bag. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Santa Fe only has 190hp to offer. Then again, both vehicles share the same torque output of 181ft-lbs.

With the Sorento and Santa Fe sharing a lot of similarities, we find it hard to name a winner in this contest. Hence, we are going to compare on which vehicle has better value.

The Santa Fe, in particular boasts a fuel consumption average of 27mpg. This is 1mpg better than the Kia Sorento. Even so, the Santa Fe retails at $24,950, which is close to $1K more than the Kia Sorento.

With that being said, we still believe that the Hyundai Santa Fe is the better car overall. It is simply appealing and also cost savvy in the long run. Of course, this is not to say that the Kia Sorento is a bad vehicle.
