The next-gen Ford Focus RS is going to make its debut later this year and it is going to be massive when released. Ford has already confirmed that the vehicle will be running on a Mustang-sourced 2.3L EcoBoost engine that promises at least 315hp.
Even so, many are still wondering on how fast the Focus RS can actually go. Looking at the already released Focus ST, the car can go up to 150mph. With the RS being slotted above the ST, it is obviously going to be faster.
The concept Focus RS model came with a speedometer that is limited at 300km/h or 186mph. With the Focus ST only 10mph short of reaching its 160mph limit, there is a chance for the RS to have its speed capped at 176mph.
Then again, the European Focus ST has a top speed of 174mph and the car is noted to be faster than the US version. If so, then the Focus RS might have the capabilities to run at 180mph max.
Of course, our assumptions are made by comparing the upcoming Focus RS with the ST. More confirmation on this will come when Ford unveils the next-gen RS at the end of this year.
