2016 Audi RS 3 Sportsback Limited Manual Option Is A Disappointment

Audi confirmed earlier today that they will be launching the all-new RS3 later this year and the car will be built based on the A3. Of course, the upcoming RS3 looks set to be more powerful than ever before as is going to run on the 2.5L turbocharged inline-five-cylinder engine.

Translating this to numbers, the RS3 is going to generate 367hp. Clearly, this is a big jump from the previous rating of 340hp. Furthermore, the RS3 has got its power boosted to 343ft-lbs of torque. To complete the package, the RS3 will look to run on the AWD system through a 7-spped wet dual-clutch transmission.

For a performance car, this is disappointing since the RS3 should be running on a manual gearbox instead. Even so, the powerful hatch is still able to sprint from 0-62mph in just 4.3seconds and a top speed of 155mph.

It is simply difficult to swallow the fact that there is no manual transmission offered with the TDI variant. After all, traditional manual gearbox has always been a staple feature for performance cars.

One fan that is looking forward to the RS3 pointed out that if Audi is going to drop the manual gearbox in place for something more sophisticated than before, then he won’t be liking the German luxury carmaker anymore.
