2015 Honda HR-V vs Jeep Renegade: Value vs Ability

Both the latest Honda HR-V and Jeep Renegade might be two of the hottest compact SUVs right now but they actually have different characteristics and features to offer.

The HR-V, in particular, is built to offer the best value whereas the Renegade is made to be the first ever off-roading beast in the compact SUV segment.

In detail, the HR-V is powered by the 1.5L 4-cylinder engine with CVT transmission paired to it. Just the powertrain alone is enough to confirm that the HR-V is made to be a fuel savvy compact SUV. Furthermore, the fact that the HR-V is also affordable to own make the vehicle ideal for everyday use.

This is something that is absent on the Renegade. The 1.4L turbocharged engine that is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission is never environmental friendly. However, the Renegade is equipped with Jeep’s 4WD lever that when engaged, will allow the compact SUV to tackle the harsh off-roading terrain.

It’s a case of tit-for-tat with the Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade as both are developed for different target audiences.
