The LG G2 has finally been updated to the Android 5.0 Lollipop. However, you should not mistake it for the official update as the Lollipop we are speaking of came from a ROM developed by XDA’s Rashed97.
The custom ROM was built specifically for the LG G2 D800, D801, D802, LS980, and VS980 models, and it basically contains the Android 5.0 Lollipop.
So if you are a G2 user that is compatible with the custom ROM, you can head down to XDA and refer to our procedure below on how to install the custom ROM.
Then again, you should note that the ROM is still in its early build and there are some issues with it. Rashed97 was kind enough to point out that the GPS and video playback functions are not working. As for the LS980 and VS980 models, they have an added issue that involves the cellular network.
The good news is that Rashed97 vows to launch updates in the future to ensure that the custom ROM is working fine and problem free. As such, little can go wrong from installing the Lollipop OS manually.
