2016 Ford Focus RS: No Hope For America?

The next-gen Ford Focus RS is already confirmed to get produce as part of the company’s MY2016 line-up but there are growing doubts that the Focus RS won’t be making its entry in its home market.

Rumours are indicating that the availability of the EcoBoost-powered Lincoln MKC and the Mustang will keep the Focus RS out of US, despite being made by the US. The rumours claim that with the Focus RS joining the party, it won’t sell well due to the availability of Ford’s other performance cars.

Well, that doesn’t look like happening at all. An industry insider shared with us that Ford is ready to launch the Focus RS in the US at the end of this year and they don’t quite mind if the vehicle sells well or not.

Besides, this is the Focus which is one of the most popular cars in the world. Obviously, a prestigious name like this deserves the RS trim getting produced, regardless of which country it is in.

With that being said, there is no doubt that the Focus RS is going to debut in the US and when it arrives, the vehicle will look to run on the newly developed 2.3L EcoBoost engine with 350hp to offer.
