2015 Honda HR-V vs Jeep Renegade: They Are Never Alike

Both the Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade are two of the latest compact SUVs in the market today. They might belong in the same segment but it is a mistake to see them as something as near-similar to each other.

To be more precise, the HR-V and the Jeep Renegade are totally different vehicles. The former, in particular, is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is mated to a CVT transmission. While it might produce 170hp and 106ft-lbs of torque, the HR-V’s rig is aimed at maximizing fuel economy without sacrificing power.

As such, it is easy to say that the HR-V is more of a versatile compact SUV that is great for general use. To complete the package, the HR-V comes with a multi-purpose steering wheel that is completed with audio controls, cruise control, phone control as well as steering wheel adjustments.

The Jeep Renegade, on the other hand, has a totally different offering. It comes with a 1.4L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the Renegade is not built to be a fuel saver.

Instead, the Renegade is designed to be the best off-roading compact SUV around. It comes with Jeep’s sublime 4WD technology that allows the Renegade to climb mountains and race on dirt tracks. Clearly, the Renegade will make a great car for off-road enthusiasts.
